2026 WINTER PROGRAMS

WINTERY MIX

5TH, 6TH, & 7th Grades

FIVE WEEKS OF VARIOUS WINTER ACTIVITIES

TWO SESSIONS A WEEK, 2.5 HOURS A SESSION

CULMINATING OVERNIGHT ADVENTURE

Want to get outside and try something new this winter? Brave the cold and join us for five weeks of invigorating winter activities designed to spark adventure, build a sense of confidence and belonging, and connect participants to the natural world, even during the coldest months here in the Midcoast. Most importantly, this program is all about getting outside and having FUN!

Weather-dependent activities include but are not limited to:

  • Snowshoeing

  • Ice skating

  • Cross-country skiing

  • Ice fishing

  • Winter hiking

  • Winter shelter building and camp craft

In addition, each session is infused with our social-emotional learning curriculum, weaving together team building, group games, and guided reflection. With small group sizes, we’re able to foster meaningful relationships, strong group bonds, and a high instructor-to-student ratio that keeps learning personalized and engaging. Our passionate guides know how to make winter fun, safe, and full of wonder!

To facilitate a safe and enjoyable overnight adventure, other skill development areas will build upon environmental awareness, leave no trace ethics, back-country cooking, and other essentials important for safety and fun on an overnight in the field.

As part of our commitment to community connection, one session is dedicated to service learning, with a hands-on project in partnership with a local like minded organization. Learn more about our service learning here.

Whether your child is new to winter activities or ready to take their skills to the next level, this program is a powerful way to stay active, grow socially and emotionally, and experience the beauty and resilience of winter here in the Midcoast.

Let’s make this winter one to remember. We hope to see you out there!
